ABOUT
Fabrizio D'Aloisio is a Swiss-Italian photographer and author based in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Before turning to photography and book publishing, he worked in the corporate world for almost 20 years, including as a magazine editor, agency copywriter and Head of PR/Creative Director for St. Moritz. While working for the Alpine resort, he positioned the town as an automotive destination, revived the town's old poster tradition with numerous new works, and contributed to the revitalisation of the town's overall image.
He grew up in Klosters (Switzerland), where he came into contact with actors, writers, photographers and other creative people; his mother was housekeeper and cook for the American writer Irwin Shaw. Fabrizio can claim to have been in the arms of Greta Garbo (when he could barely walk). This early eye for the timeless aesthetics and somewhat hedonistic culture of the last century later became his inspiration as a photographer and author. His iconic automotive photos, often the result of cinematic staging, hang on the walls of collectors and photography enthusiasts around the world. Fabrizio's mentors include the legendary Monty Shadow, and he counts photographers such as Peter Vann and Peter Knapp as friends and sources of inspiration.
He has published two books: Car Guys – The Culture of Owning a Classic Car (2020) was sold in over 40 countries in its first year, it achieved critical acclaim and was described as an «instant classic». Klosters (2022 and 2023) is a snapshot retrospective of that microcosm of personalities that made the Swiss mountain village an extraordinary place for over two decades. Other book projects are underway.
