COMO NOIR

Published in Car Guys (2020), Fabrizio D’Aloisio’s book on the culture of owning a classic car, this photograph captures a Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 (1965) slipping through the stillness of Lake Como. The scene feels like a frame from an Italian noir comic — a quiet sense of pursuit, elegance and secrecy — as if the car were gliding toward an unseen rendezvous. With its long bonnet and low silhouette, the E-Type becomes less a vehicle than a character: poised, cinematic, and slightly dangerous.
