A Porsche 917 in the distinctive green livery made famous by racing legend David Piper pauses for a rare moment of stillness at Engadin Airport near St. Moritz. Piper, one of the few drivers to race the 917 in period, helped turn the model into an icon of motorsport history. Photographed during Passione Engadina in the summer of 2025, the car stands beside an AVGAS 100LL pump — an unexpected encounter between racing heritage and alpine aviation culture.
